q: what are bonds?
a: hair is made up of different kinds of bonds that impact the strength and elasticity of our hair. these bonds are damaged daily by heat styling, environmental stressors, chemical treatments, and more. damage leads to hair looking dull, damaged, frizzy, and unmanageable.

q: what is bond cure technology?
a: the bond cure technology used in the bust your brass collection is a proprietary blend of ingredients that are meant to target hydrogen bonds, the most abundant bonds in your hair which are most prone to breakage.

q: what is brassiness?
a: brassiness refers to unwanted warm and yellow tones that appear over time in blonde, silver, and grey hair as it is washed and exposed to environmental stressors. the bust your brass collection counteracts brassiness by using ultra violet pigments to neutralize warm tones, resulting in cool shades of blonde, silver, and gray.

q: what types of damage does the bond cure technology target?
a: the bust your brass collection, formulated with bond cure technology, targets all types of damage-- from chemical, to mechanical, to natural breakage and environmental stressors. it repairs the most abundant bonds in the hair, leaving damaged hair stronger after use.

q: how does the bond cure technology work compared to other bonding products on the market?
a: the bond cure technology in the bust your brass collection is formulated to target hydrogen bonds, the most abundant bonds in your hair. hydrogen bonds are the most fragile bonds in hair, and are damaged daily by heat styling, environmental stressors, manipulation, chemical treatments, and more. the bust your brass collection targets all kinds of damage and strengthens hair to prevent future breakage. other bond building products on the market target less common types of hair bonds that may not require as much repair from different kinds of damage.

q: is there any keratin in these products?
a: no! we’ve replaced keratin with hydrolyzed quinoa, a vegan protein, so the new bust your brass collection is 100% vegan and does not build up on hair when used as directed.

q: can’t too much protein make your hair brittle and weak?
a: while the overuse of keratin can lead to brittle and weak hair, the bust your brass collection uses vegan proteins that do not build up on hair or cause breakage when used as directed!

q: which hair types does this work on?
a: the bust your brass collection works on all types of blonde, silver, and gray! every blonde and gray hair type is susceptible to damage and brassiness. the bust your brass collections tones, repairs, and strengthens them all, from straight hair to chemically treated to curly and textured hair.

q: are these products color safe?
a: yes! color-treated blondes are prone to damage and brassiness, and would especially benefit from the bust your brass collection to tone, repair, and strengthen hair.

q: is this safe to use on chemically treated hair?
a: yes! chemically treated hair blondes are prone to damage and brassiness, and would benefit from the bust your brass collection, which is clinically proven to tone, repair, and strengthen hair.

q: can i use this every day? is over usage possible?
a: while the vegan proteins used in the bust your brass collection will not build up on hair when used as directed, not all hair types should use toning products every wash. we recommend customizing your blonde routine based on type of blonde and desired level of toning.

q: how long will it take to see results?
a: the bust your brass collection tones, strengthens, and repairs hair in as little as one use! we recommend customizing your blonde routine based on type of blonde and desired level of toning.

q: how long do toning benefits last?
a: the length of time for which cool tones last vary based on hair type, porosity, and environment. we recommend using the bust your brass collection as needed to correct unwanted brassiness.

q: what is the difference between the old formula and new? will my results differ?
a: we upgraded the new bust your brass repair shampoo and conditioner with a stronger formula that includes bond cure technology and vegan proteins that won’t build up on hair when used as directed. it tones brassiness and more effectively combats damage by targeting the most abundant bonds in the hair, and is clinically proven to repair and strengthen hair.

q: how often should i use bust your brass?
a: we recommend customizing your routine based on type of blonde or gray and desired level of toning. not all hair types should use bust your brass every wash, and most should alternate bust your brass with your favorite amika shampoo and conditioner:

  • natural blondes: use bust your brass shampoo + conditioner every other wash, or bust your brass intense repair mask 1x per week if hair needs additional moisture.

q: will this stain my towel and/or shower? what do i do if it does?
a: the bust your brass collection will not stain your shower or towels. however, if there are any concerns, rinse the product from hair as directed then run water over any areas where the product remains. if staining does occur, the pigmentation will rinse out of shower curtains, towels and bathtubs with hot water or washing as usual.

q: what should i do if this overpigments my hair?
a: bust your brass products should not overpigment when used as directed. the ultra-violet pigmentation in all products are meant to be used regularly to maintain tone. if overpigmentation does occur, wash with reset gel shampoo conditioner until desired tone is reached. to prevent future overpigmentation, we recommend leaving bust your brass products in hair for a shorter period of time before rinsing.

Works better than the original

Works better than the original formula. I use all the products. Shampoo, conditioner and I follow it up with the mask. After I leave it in my hair for awhile I rinse it off and add the shine mask for a couple of minutes. When it dries I use the glass shine and my hair is anew. Hasn’t felt this soft since before I bleached it. Amazing products amika! Thanks!
